US Figure Skating Championships: Championship Men's Free Skate & Awards

The US Figure Skating Championships bring the country's top figure skaters together to compete for national titles. The Championship Men's Free Skate puts the athletes' technical skill, speed, and artistry on display, followed by the awards presentation. The championships run January 7–10, 2027, with this event taking place on January 10 at Maverik Center in West Valley City, near Salt Lake City, Utah.

For fans following Sports and Skating, the free skate is a chance to see a complete competitive program unfold live, with jumps, spins, and choreography performed under championship pressure. The awards add a celebratory close to the session. Specific competitors, opening acts, and event-day schedule details have not been provided, so check the latest event information before attending. Prices currently start around $40 and may vary by seat location and availability.

Venue and Seating Information

Maverik Center is a multipurpose indoor arena in West Valley City, with a capacity that varies by event configuration. For figure skating, the rink layout gives spectators a broad view of the ice and the skaters' full programs.

Lower-bowl seats along the sides can offer a strong balance of proximity and perspective, making it easier to follow movement across the rink. Club-level seating provides an elevated mid-arena view, while upper-deck seats offer a wider panorama at generally more affordable price points. Corner sections may make some action harder to follow as skaters move across the ice, so consider your preferred viewing angle when selecting seats.

Parking Information

Parking is available in four venue lots on or adjacent to the Maverik Center grounds. Spaces are first-come, first-served, and accessible parking is available in all lots. Arriving early can help with parking and entry; rideshare drop-off and pickup are designated near the main entrance.
